Majurat See Nam Pueng
What is goodness and sincerity? Can it buy happiness and solve world hunger? No, but it will pave the path for many things in your life including a love that is true and gain respect from others. Our story, Majurat See Nam Pueng, starts out with our main hero, Paat (Ken) who is the owner of a tea farm. He's worked hard to get where he is and has stumbled upon a lot of adversities in his life including an ex-wife who was unfaithful and hungered for money. Because of this, he looks upon women as the same as her. He can't open his heart to anyone because he's stuck in the past and uses authority to gain results.
Enter Rojansia or Peung (Namtarn) who is the adopted daughter of the family that Paat's family had made a promise to marry one day. Peung is a kind hearted girl who believes that if you give more than you receive, offer kindness to all people including enemies, in the end, you will get back more. She is in love with Prawat (Boy) who is a commander in the police force. The two are in love and Prawat has asked her to marry him. She has accepted. Life is well.
Their families are close so when the blow of having Paat marry Romethia, the youngest daughter, enters Paat's life, he refuses because he believes that Romethia is only hungry for money. And when Romethia's mother asks for the bride dowry of 100 million baht, it proves him right. Romethia doesn't want to marry Paat because she believes that a man who is a farmer is ugly, uneducated, and she looks down on those kind of people. But her mother asks her to make a decision after Paat comes to visit her. So Paat, since he's not interested, asks his servant Chi, to dress up and pretend it is him that she is marrying. Of course, after Romethia sees him, she backs out. And when their father falls ill and needs to have weekly doctor appointments, the family can't afford it so what does the mother do? She forces Peung to take her sister's place. But she refuses because she's already accepted Prawat's marriage proposal. To make her sister feel guilty, Romethia tells her the secret that she's an adopted daughter and she must now pay her gratuity to the family. Unable to shy away from that news, Peung accepts and marries Paat while Prawat vows to get her back one day.
The two are forced together into a life where they fight their emotions for each other. Paat must learn to forgive and move on to love again. While she must learn how to stand up and fight for her own battles. But when Romethia sees who the real Paat is, she decides she wants him for herself and comes back to stab them all in the back. Not to mention, Arie, the drug lord's daughter who has a thing for Paat. And of course, there's still Prawat and Paatwee, the two men who are in love with Peung. Can their marriage survive this wrath and will they give in to their emotions and admit their feelings?
This lakorn delivers a great message that sometimes if you seek revenge, you will end up alone and unwanted. The best thing to do is to learn how to forgive, move on, and know that when someone doesn't love or want you, have enough respect to walk away. A great lesson for everyone to learn and of course, the slap/kiss, the drama, and the soundtrack gives it the perfect blend for an all time favorite.
