Who doesn't love the 80's?

Ok...so I'm supposed to be writing, but I found myself on YouTube listening to the best of the 80's love songs and I'm in memory land. How many of you are fans of Air Supply, Bonnie Tyler, The Police, Europe, and all the greatest bands in the 80's? Man, if you didn't grow up during the 80's era, you really didn't know music. I'm such a huge fan of music. Of course, it did help that my entire family are musicians. I grew up with the sounds of the drums, the guitar, and the echo of the microphone. My brothers jammed on weekends to oldies classics from my traditional cultural and I was always on VH1 watching music videos. Those were the days and I still find myself lost in time. So I thought I'd share with you my favorite link. Enjoy!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kA0pkemJxMc

Past Promises Chapter 4

The house was silent as Jedidiah made his way into the living room. The maid had come by and had cleaned up all the evidence that he’d thrown a party. He was holding the purse Anna left behind at the hospital. He tossed the medication he’d picked up from the drug store on the couch and sat down forgetting his back and swearing as he felt pain. He let out a heavy breath and then heard the garage door stall open. He picked up the prescription and headed up the stairs to his room. His father was back home and probably had another girl on his arm. Yes, a girl. He’d wish he could say it was a woman. But the girls his father picked were young enough to be his sister.      Jedidiah knew that life with his father wasn’t going to be easy. He knew that without his mother everything would be a continued downfall until there was nothing left. And he was right. Soon after his mother’s burial, his father turned to women to heal his mourning. He let the women come in between them and the dista

April Showers

Hello world. How have you been? I have been experiencing a lot of GOOD weather! Do you see the capitalization in the word "good?" That's how good the weather has actually been. I've been stuck in winter's wrath for far too long. I've had to suffer wearing thick winter coats, scarves (well, I love scares, so not complaining there), abusive winds, and random snow falls that has given me  another reason to work out while shoveling! But overall, I am done with winter! I am finally glad to see my grass and I am finally glad to feel the wind fly between my toes. This year, I am so busy. I just realized how busy I will actually be when I sat down and thought about all the events going on. Let me show you how busy I will actually be laying down my events for you to physically see: 1. Vang Women's Retreat in one week! Yes, it's time to hang out with my lovely Vang sisters from another mother. I can't wait for this getaway and I'm dying to learn new

Past Promises Chapter 3

Meena sighed and flicked her hair, which annoyed Anna more. She got up to go when the door to the operating room opened and a man in green scrubs came out. He was an older man with graying brown hair and kind blue eyes; no doubt the operating surgeon for Jedidiah.      “Are you the lady who brought him in?” he asked.      Anna nodded. “Yes, I am. How is he?”      He smiled. “He’ll be fine. He got ten stitches on his back. You can go check him once we get him situated in his room.”      “Thank you.”      He smiled and walked back into the operating room. Anna turned to find Meena with her legs crossed chewing her hair and staring at her nails. She walked to her friend and grabbed her arm, yanking her to her feet.      “What?” Meena asked.      “Why are you acting this way? You’re not even worried? I thought he was your friend?”      Meena laughed and shrugged. “Look, Jedidiah does this all the time, ok? He’s fine. If you’re so worried about him, then why don’
