What an amazing night! It was a full house both Tuesday and Wednesday night when we premiered our film at AMC theaters. It was jammed packed with fans and families who came to support us. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. On the way to the theater, my nerves were shot to the roof. In the past, it was going to see someone else's film, but this time, it was because I had a part in it. I was literally on edge and I just wanted to scream at the top of my lungs. The moment the screen came on and I saw my name, I almost passed out. For years, as a little girl, I had dreamt of one day seeing my name on the big screen. The feeling is indescribable. I felt numb, I felt alive, I felt butterflies, and I felt tears. It was the most priceless gift ever.  Thank you to everyone who came and supported us. It was a successful event.

Tomorrow is the Big Day

Wow...a year ago, I never thought I'd be here in this situation. I wasn't sure I'd ever be in this situation in my life. And now, just 24 hours away, is the biggest moment of my entire life. I will be seeing my name on the big screen. Do you know, I am chewing on nails right now, feeling numb, and out of breath. Seriously. I am so excited. My biggest dream of seeing my work in theater is almost here! I have such an amazing team that helped brought me here. I am so lucky that I was chosen to be a part of this project. It is now here within my reach and I am just on edge. The shoes, the outfit, the makeup, the hair...all of it is set for tomorrow. Can I put my nerves at rest? Probably not, but I am too happy to care now.  Come see us tomorrow and  Wednesday night, 7PM at AMC Theaters at the Rosedale Shopping Mall. Tickets are $13. See you there!

Raw Fever Chapter 3

Image
The evening sun settled down behind the horizon and as the servants busied themselves for dinner, Dakota sat in the study room watching each one of them work. The servants were strange just like their master. They tended to things just as normal servants did, but they didn’t smile or have life in their eyes. They were quiet, to the point, and they never looked at each other. They hardly spoke to one another and she found that strange. Her last servants gossiped, laughed, and joked with each other as they worked. But these ones were eerily quiet. She tried to focus on her book, but she hadn’t turned a page since she sat down half an hour ago. She’d been watching them and hoping that she could figure out something about their master by watching them. But they’d been tightlipped since she sat down.           The servant ladies wore all brown like muddy waters and the men wore all black just like their master. Their attire seemed to be moody and dark. Their eyes held secrets, it seeme

Raw Fever Chapter 2

Dakota woke up to a pounding head and the extreme light from outside didn’t help either. She got out of bed and stumbled over the bed sheets as she walked to the window. It was near mid-morning and she wiped the sleep from her eyes. Outside was a carriage filled with trunks and several servants walking around. She frowned and cocked her head wondering was going on. Turning, she fled out of her chamber and down the stairs.           Loud conversation was heard as was the sound of cleaning and orders being shouted. She saw strange people walking about and she reached out her hands to stop one of them.           “Who are you? What are you doing about in my home?” she asked.           He didn’t answer and kept moving about. She looked around finding the servants moving and changing the designs of the room. When one of the women grabbed the frame of her mother’s painting above the fireplace, she ran to her and grabbed her arm.           “Do not touch my mother’s painting!” she sh

“Father, you cannot tell me that you’ve given up hope. We can get the company back,” Lady Dakota Trey said as she watched her father’s sunken face. He was sitting in the corner with his white tunic left unbuttoned. His blue eyes were filled with a misty lost look as he let out a deep breath and raised his head to look at her.             “Dakota, there is nothing I can do now, darling. I have given it all my best and I have come up empty. All of my money is gone and I have nothing left. The only way to get out of this is to sell it,” Baron Edward Trey said.             Dakota sat down in one of the chairs and her blonde curls fell over her slender shoulder. She looked just as lost as her father, she was sure, and her heart ached. The company, their lumber company, was going to be sold. The company that her great grandparents built with their blood and sweat was going to be given to a stranger who had no ties with their heritage.             She felt the tears come

Past Promises Chapter 10 END

Clothes were littered on the ground, heels turned upside down, and a lacy bra hung on the bed post. The night wind blew in soft, balmy air as the two lovers lay entwined in each other’s arms. The aftermath of passionate love making left them both exhausted and fulfilled. The emptiness they both felt for years was finally gone as they gave each other life. Their bodies became as one, giving one another the need to fill the ache that tortured at their souls.      Jedidiah held her against him and kissed her head, thinking back to how she had uttered his name in complete surrender when he brought her to the brink of ecstasy. The pleasures she muttered against his skin had him holding back until he felt he would break. Everything had been perfect just like how he had imagined it would be. She was perfect; an addiction he would find he needed.      “What are you thinking about?” Anna whispered as she laced her hand through his.      Jedidiah smiled in the dark. “You.”      She la

Anna turned to go when she felt arms around her. She started to tear up as she heard his cries muffled by her hair. She pulled herself away and turned around to find that it wasn’t Owen as she thought, but it was Jedidiah. Owen was standing staring at them. Jedidiah was crying; his face distorted with an emotion that made her heart ache. He slowly fell to his knees and took her hands.      “You’ll kill me a second time, Anna. I’d die for sure. The first time I watched you walk away it left me in a haze. I was lost and now that I’ve found you again, you can’t leave me. If I have to watch you walk away a second time, I’ll die.”      Anna felt her hands shake as she fell to the ground. She cupped his face and pulled him into her arms. The warmth of their bodies together brought peace to her pounding heart. She finally silenced the agony in her heart and as she breathed deeply, she realized that only with him in her arms, could she face all the destruction. Only with him was she una

Past Promises Chapter 8

Anna sat quietly in the car as they drove to the restaurant. Out of all the people in the world, it had to be Jedidiah. She shut her eyes and thought of the moment when Owen called her to his side. She never expected to see him again. But here they were, 12 years of heartache later, they were reunited. But the circumstances were quite different now. They both belonged to someone else, not each other. She stared at Owen, who was driving, and felt the sting of guilt. He hadn’t told her his friend’s name and so she wasn’t expecting anything like tonight. Who would have known that this was how her life would turn out to be?      She met Owen at a business conference six years ago and since then he had been trying to pursue her. She never thought she’d cave in and agree to marry him. The truth was, she was afraid that if she didn’t, she’d be alone for the rest of her life. The other truth was that she was waiting if Jedidiah would magically appear at her doorstep. And of course, he did
