Kuab Muaj Tsuas 2 Review

There are many things in life that we treasure. For some, it is love. For others, it is wealth. Centuries ago, among the hills of a distance place, love and wealth weren’t among people’s minds. It was a something called the Miraculous cure and the Legendary script that had people fighting for lives and each other. From Imaginary Entertainment and worldwide sensation Yengtha Her, comes a film that puts two chapters into one, Kuab Muaj Tsuas 2.
If you were the many who attended the premier release of Kuab Muaj Tsuas 2 at Willow Creek Theater, you would have found that the film itself was cut to fit the time frame of two hours. There were many missing parts and if it left you a little confused, you weren’t alone. I myself also attended the premier and was left trying to figuring out the puzzle as to what happened. But when I got my complimentary copy from Yengtha Her, I sat down and watched it and had a moment of “Oh! That’s what happened!”
The film opens up to a bloody massacre and the sound of a soft somber tune. A young man with long dark hair appears and in his hands, holds something to give back the gift of life. Cut to the insert of the legendary script and a young woman dressed in red who fights with flawless moves against another version of the same young man, but this time, with a different hue of hair. And so begins the story of how Yengtha and Yeej Suab come together to combine the legendary script and the miraculous cure.
In this film, Yengtha once again plays both roles, bringing to life, two characters he’s known quite well in the past. His characters suffer loss, betrayal, and at one point, a devilish spell upon him. Surrounded by women who seem to want him for either his gift of martial arts or his looks, he’s fighting off warlords who want to take the two precious items and turn it against the world. When in good hands, it’s used for good purposes. When in bad hands, it’s used against humanity. The only safe place for humans, is to keep it out of the evil warlord’s hand.
I have to say, I really love the fashion, which were designed by Ying Yang and Mai Nhia, two very talented fashion designers. The dresses the women wore were designed with such a beautiful taste of the time frame the film was set in. The fabric was rich in color and the different styles each character wore for when they were either good or bad, showed the true form of who they were playing. I really enjoyed seeing each scene unfold and watching the fashion itself. I have to say, as far as fashion goes, these two ladies are above and beyond.
As far as camera work goes, I think some angles were positioned wrong. I would have loved to have seen more camera jib work seeing as how it was shot in such an exotic location with beautiful scenery. I was expecting a lot of camera pan and jib work to reveal the journey the two characters would have to travel through. I was a little disappointed in the how much special effects were used to create the fight scenes. I know that it was a time frame where it was used, but I wanted to see more fist on fist action for the martial arts. Although, some were very well done, I wanted more movement instead of special power effects.
When I spoke to Yengtha, he mentioned that this film, Kuab Muaj Tsuas 2, would probably be the last series he would make regarding the sequel. But then again, it also depended on the audience. If everyone wanted him to make it into a trilogy, he might. He spoke about how audio was a huge setback for him and after 15 years of film making, it still is his number one challenge. I don’t argue because audio is very vital to a film. His audio track was alright in some scenes, but most, you can tell, was voiced over, which we sometimes can’t help.
Film making isn’t easy. If it were, a lot of people would be able to do it. It takes dedication, hard work, and passion to make the film work and rise. It is always a gamble when it comes to the success of a film. But when people don’t appreciate your work or decide to not support you, film making tends to lose its interest for film makers.

Life doesn’t offer many chances. But if it did, would you take it? And at what cost? Would you protect all you can with what you hold dear? In Yengtha Her’s latest film, Kuab Muaj Tsuas 2, it seeks to show that sometimes when you do good, it can be a cause for evil to follow you. And evil comes at a high price. His latest film touches the reality of greed, betrayal, and love in all angels from beginning to end.
