AUDITIONS

Houa Production is currently seeking auditions for the following roles. All roles are volunteer roles. You must be able to commit your time and be reliable. Although this is a volunteer position, if you are serious about film making, it will open doors for you in the future. You must be able to read and speak Hmong clearly.  Please read carefully.

Tuag Los Tseg, is a film wrapped around hope, loss, and sacrifice. It revolves around the life of Kub Ci, a young troubled man, who is wrapped up in the wrong crowd and is on the fast paced life to prison. One day, while stealing cars, he accidentally steals a Mafia lord’s car. In order to save himself, he gives his life to this Mafia lord, in order to pay off his crime. During a robbery, he is caught and gets tossed an ultimatum: Go to prison for 15 years or enter a recovery program with a pastor for six months. He chooses to enter his life into the program and discovers that life in the slow lane can be better for lots of great reasons. One of those reasons is Nkauj See, a lovely, choir singer, who becomes the light to save him from tragedy. Together, the two discover that life after hitting rock bottom can be a second chance at living well. But Kub Ci’s past life with the mafia will soon catch up with him. If met with a price to pay, can he sacrifice everything?

Kub Ci-at age 13. Kub Ci is a misunderstood and stubborn child. Due to his misunderstandings and hard life, he falls into the wrong crowd and begins a fast whirlwind to stealing cars, drugs, drinking, up until he turns 21.

Nkauj See-- main leading actress. Nkauj See is a choir singer (must be able to sing) who has had a very tragic past and she has learned that in order to move on, you must forgive, no matter how painful. When she meets Kub Ci for the first time, her voice captures his lost soul and helps bring him to solitude from a life of loudness.

Vam meej Thoj- Kub Ci’s father is a 45 year old man, who is not easy to forgive, and does not break down to anyone. He doesn’t like the fact that his son is a horrible example and does not do much to try to understand why his son is the way he is.

Tub Ntxawg Thoj-- second leading male in the film, Tuag Los Tseg. A crowned Hmong prince charming who returns back home to find the clues to his life. 

Yaj Pov-18-21 years old. Yaj Pov is a realtor who owns several home rental properties. He’s cocky, has an attitude, and doesn’t mind saying what is on his mind.

Npauj Nyiag-18-21 years old. Npauj Nyiag is in love with Yaj Pov, although he’s made it clear they are only friends. She’s a very pretty, stuck in her looks kind of gal, who knows she’s pretty and isn’t afraid to show it.

Nkauj Ntxawm- 18-21 years old. Nkauj Ntxawm is the 18 year old twin from part one. She is a boyish girl who will enter a beauty pageant and out of all the odds against her, will win. She will also win the heart of Yaj Pov. She is a singer, blunt, and unafraid to face all odds in her life.

Neej Zoo- 40 years old, pastor. Neej Zoo is the pastor who is a giving person with an open heart. He is the one to help guide Kub Ci back onto the right track.

Rocky-23 years old, one of the gangsters in the mafia group. Although he is labeled as a gangster, he still has the heart of a good man and eventually that goodness will win in the end.

Vaj Tuam-4 5 years old, mafia leader. Vaj Tuam is a stern man, who does not answer to anyone. He gets all of his men to do the dirty work for him. He alone leads a pack of men who drives expensive cars and at the drop of  hat, everyone is frightened of him. He’s intimidating, tight-fisted, and dominant.  

Xyooj Pov-40 years old, gangster leader. Xyooj Pov is the leader of a small gangster. He is the one who first recruits Kub Ci into the world of stealing cars. He’s brutal when it comes to how things are done, but he still bows down to Vaj Tuam.

Foom-17 years old, gangster. A kid caught in the world of drug dealing and stealing cars.

Teeb- 40 years old, thinning hair, Vam Meej’s friend.

Private Xyooj- Kub Ci’s private in the war, 23 years old.

Kaus-30 years old, hit man.

Officer Npis-30 years old, officer.

Jail Clerk- 60  years old

Npauj-25 years old, Nkauj See’s pregnant friend.

Commanding Officer-Kub Cis’ commanding officer.

Recruiting Officer-recruiting officer from army recruit.

We would also need to shoot two new born babies to portray twins. If anyone you know of that is willing to have us shoot their twins or two babies, please let us know.

Hair/Makeup artist- You will be responsible for applying the makeup/hair on all the actors before shooting. You are required to be there from start to finish.

Editors-you will be responsible for editing the film, making sure all I’s are dotted and t’s are crossed. You will be working closely with the directors and producers of the film. Your job it to make sure the finished product is flawless.

Extras-We’ll need a lot of extras in this film. You will be called and given a two week notice as to when and where to show up. The extras do not have lines, but extras are just as important for they fulfill the film.
