Yah Leum Chen: Forget Me Not
When I first heard that Tik and Anne were going to be paired up together in a lakorn, I jumped for joy. Anne has been one of my all time favorite lakorn actresses from the beginning of time. In fact, I began to watch her perform when I was just six years old. She had me from then on. I have also found that Tik has been a heart breaker from his good looks to his irresistible charm. So when I heard the two were going to be cast together in Forget Me Not, I was just overjoyed.
This is a remake of an older lakorn, but yet, the romance and the message written in between the lines will never be forgotten. Tik plays Khem, a young bachelor who is the head of a fabric company he helped bring back to life after he graduated from college. He has a great life, he can get anything he wants, and many girls adore him for his looks. He has a girl who falls somewhere between the line of friend and girlfriend, Gaen (played by Rita). Although he likes her company, inside his heart, lingers someone else's face. A face he could never forget. A face that tortured his soul when she up and left him to marry another man. But what he didn't expect was to see that face as his new secretary when he returned from business overseas. That face was none other than Wadee (Anne), the girl who broke his heart in college.
But Wadee, now known as Suriyong, is no longer the girl he knew. She is a mother of two twin boys and a very young widow. She is looking for a job to help support her family and a head hunter pointed her toward his direction. When the two meet, sparks fly and old memories and wounds open up. Khem is willing to do anything to hurt her to make his heart satisfied. What kills him the most is that when he sees the ring he custom made for her, still on her finger. Over the years of his life, he forbid everyone in his company to bring flowers or make any fabrics of flowers, because it reminded him of Wadee. So when he sees the ring on his finger, it drives him to hurt her even more.
But what you think you know and what is actually the truth will always leave you a few steps behind. Through a whirl wind of fake emotions, lies, betrayal, and revenge, Khem will learn that sometimes in order for you to truly move on and be happy, is to simply forgive. You must open up your heart, trust it, and be faithful to its feelings that it will lead you to the right path. When you think of nothing but revenge, and try to put it to work, you not only end up alone, you end up worse than when you began.
Khem and Wadee's romance is a fine one to watch. There are a lot of misconceptions, drama, and misfits that makes this couple so eager to watch and grow. I thought to myself, "Why is it, that it took this long for them to be paired up?" Their chemistry is too good to be left alone. They make such a great onscreen couple and they both bring their character to life.
Overall, do watch it. It is an amazing story and their acting is out of this world.
