New Beginnings

Image
As production is set to begin, I am filled with such a deep inner satisfaction that I am beginning to truly live my dreams. At the audition, I got to see firsthand the power of the passion of talented actors who will bring to life a story that has been on the shelf for years. I am so excited to see the beginning of a new chapter unfold. This story, has stolen my heart away and I didn't even realize it. I am so in love with each and every one of the characters that I find myself daydreaming about their lives and falling in love all over again. As a writer, you must be able to live in your character's moments, feel it, and know it before you can hand it over to an actor to give it breath. I feel that I have given my everything in writing this piece and my keyboards are still stained with my tears. It is a piece of work that has given my heart a whole new meaning to the word of "sacrifice."' I am so endlessly amazed at the feelings I get each time I reread it. ...

Dreams

Not too long ago, a little girl dreamed that one day, she would get to see her name in letters on screen. This little girl loved to write stories and loved to pretend to be someone else. When that little girl grew up, she turned her passion and her dream into reality. Today, that little girl has written one screenplay that was shown at AMC theaters and is on her way to directing her first feature length film with four published books.

Fluttering Wings

Today has been a day spent writing and reflecting on my career as a writer. Since the debut of "Dua Rhe Ib Nplooj Siab," we've gotten massive positive reviews. Have you seen it? What are you thoughts? Please share them with me. If you have not, would you like one? It does have English subtitles. I think this film is amazing, and not just because I wrote it, but if I hadn't, I'd still fall in love with it.  My days have been spent writing and working on future projects. My writing career has definitely taken a great turn. I am so proud of my team. We have come so far and we've only got more greatness ahead of us.  I'm writing to let you know that I am still going to put up Raw Fever. I am bit behind, which I apologize for, and I am working on it. I've gotten a few good reviews on it. If you've read what I've posted, tell me your thoughts.  Have a great day!

Reflections

A year ago during this time, I was seven months pregnant with my fourth child. I was working on a film with a company called HYK Production and a man named Sue Vang. But before all that, we were just two complete strangers who happened to be in film business. If you rewind two years ago, Sue and I probably stepped on each other's foot and didn't know. But getting to know Sue, working with him, and getting to meet the cast and crew, has been the most wondrous time of my life.  When I first met Sue, it was through email. He contacted me because he'd gone to the premiere of Opposite Blood and I had too. See what I mean by stepping on each other's feet? We both went to the premiere. Him, to support his fellow film maker, and I, because I was there to write a review on the film. A few days later, I released my review and we had a good discussion on it. Then, he shot me an email and asked me if I would consider joining him as a writer. He had a story to tell, but was stu...

Premier of Dua Rhe Ib Nplooj Siab

What an amazing night! It was a full house both Tuesday and Wednesday night when we premiered our film at AMC theaters. It was jammed packed with fans and families who came to support us. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. On the way to the theater, my nerves were shot to the roof. In the past, it was going to see someone else's film, but this time, it was because I had a part in it. I was literally on edge and I just wanted to scream at the top of my lungs. The moment the screen came on and I saw my name, I almost passed out. For years, as a little girl, I had dreamt of one day seeing my name on the big screen. The feeling is indescribable. I felt numb, I felt alive, I felt butterflies, and I felt tears. It was the most priceless gift ever.  Thank you to everyone who came and supported us. It was a successful event.

Tomorrow is the Big Day

Wow...a year ago, I never thought I'd be here in this situation. I wasn't sure I'd ever be in this situation in my life. And now, just 24 hours away, is the biggest moment of my entire life. I will be seeing my name on the big screen. Do you know, I am chewing on nails right now, feeling numb, and out of breath. Seriously. I am so excited. My biggest dream of seeing my work in theater is almost here! I have such an amazing team that helped brought me here. I am so lucky that I was chosen to be a part of this project. It is now here within my reach and I am just on edge. The shoes, the outfit, the makeup, the hair...all of it is set for tomorrow. Can I put my nerves at rest? Probably not, but I am too happy to care now.  Come see us tomorrow and  Wednesday night, 7PM at AMC Theaters at the Rosedale Shopping Mall. Tickets are $13. See you there!
